Hi picnic-ers,
We just had another Executive Picnic Committee (heretofore referred to as EPC) meeting at Granite City Restaurant &Quarry. All members of this committee are self appointed and can therefore not be fired by anyone but themselves or spouse.
The whole idea behind these picnics is to have an event that requires no organization, consequently I really have no idea what these meeting are for or what we accomplish. However, we do seem to have a lot of fun doing pretty much nothing. I guess we must be good at that and have finally found our real calling in life. Anyone else wanting to appoint themselves to the EPC are invited to do so and may attend these meetings, but only if they have absolutely nothing what so ever to offer in organizational skills. Present were Susie (Oswalt), Susie (Bowman), Don Childers and moi.
The date for the picnic is the 12th of September. We hope to see all of you old farts on that date.
It's a pitch-in, so please bring a dish to share. It would be good if there is something in the dish that is edible. Also bring your food, drink, chairs, plates, napkins, plastic ware and whatever might be left of your memory.
Please bathe and put on clean underwear (this is directed mostly to Rik Sims who since moving to Kentucky has resorted to seasonal bathing at best).
Remember that booze is not allowed in the state park, so don't bring it or be very sneaky.
Time & Date: Sunday, September 12, 2010. 12:00 Noon Place: Fort Harrison State Park, Delaware Shelter. 317-591-0904. East on 56th St. from I-465 on east side of Indy Then follow signs for the park. There is a charge to enter the park for each car. $5 I think.
We have these picnics every year and have a jolly swell time. This is our third year and plan on keeping it going until the last classmate is sitting in the park alone muttering to themselves “Where is Don Childers and his free chocolate?”
One other item, if you haven't been to the Howe website (http://www.howehighschool.com/ ) recently, please go there and update your information.
